Novosoft Releases Backup Software for Android Mobile Devices

“We started working on compatibility with Android in early spring of this year,” said Alexander Prichalov, head of Novosoft Product Department. “The first beta came out in March, and it was a client software that allowed a PC version of Handy Backup access and back up phone’s data. After collecting user feedback, we saw a huge demand for a standalone Android backup tool, so we immediately started working to come up with a solution.”

By creating a portable version of Handy Backup, Novosoft provides owners of Android-based smartphones with an opportunity to back up their data independently of Google services. The current release supports backing up SMS messages, contacts, call logs and SD card data. Contacts are saved in VCard format, so they can be later imported to Outlook or other messaging software.

Handy Backup 6.1 Now Provides Outlook 2007 Backup and Windows Mail Backup Functionality

The family of Novosoft key product has been updated with numerous improvements and new functionality.

Novosoft LLC announced updates to its flagship data protection solutions Handy Backup and Handy Backup Server. Handy Backup 6.1 and Handy Backup Server 6.1 versions of these award-winning automatic backup software add new features that make working with the program easier, faster and more efficient.

First of all, the changes concern user interface, in particular backup, restore and synchronization tasks representation in the main window of the program. Now users can easily manage their tasks and find ones they would like to execute, change or remove due to improved sorting mechanics that allow arranging tasks by name, task type, status and other parameters. Such an option is especially vital for Server edition of the program used within organizations and executing a number of different operations that should be under constant control of system administrators and quickly accessed when needed.

IT professionals and experienced users will also appreciate the opportunity to import/export program configuration appeared in the version 6.1 of both editions. Program settings can be saved in a simple ZIP format and retrieved after new version installation or just to change the way of data protection.

January 28, 2008 – Novosoft LLC announced that Handy Backup 6.0, the latest version of its award-winning backup software, after exhaustive testing has been approved by Microsoft for carrying the “Works with Windows Vista” logo to ensure customers have an optimal experience when protecting data on computers running the Windows Vista operating system.

Handy Backup software is an all-in-one solution for backing up valuable information, restoring it in case of an unforeseen emergency and synchronizing files between computers on a network. It allows performing backup to DVD, backup to CD, backup to HDD, USB and FireWire devices. It includes presets to exececute MS Outlook/Outlook Express backup, MySQL backup, MS Exchange backup and many other data backup. With this software consumers, who are new to backing up their data, and experienced users, who want to save time, have at their disposal a set of powerful yet easy-to-use tools to safeguard precious files. And now they can do this even more efficiently.

Windows Vista compatibility was implemented in the software about a year ago and now it has been officially acknowledged which means that the program meets the highest standards of reliability and security. Tests proved that Handy Backup works with different configurations of Windows Vista correctly without the need to change system settings even after updating the OS. This became possible because of a new architecture introducing multiuser support, digital certificates for all program files, long file name support etc., which results in considerably increased security and stability.

The application installer has been changed and now combines all versions of the product (Standard, Standard DVD, Professional, Full and Server) in one package.
