The new 6.0 version of Novosoft key product has been added to Microsoft’s list of software compatible with Windows Vista.
January 28, 2008 – Novosoft LLC announced that Handy Backup 6.0, the latest version of its award-winning backup software, after exhaustive testing has been approved by Microsoft for carrying the “Works with Windows Vista” logo to ensure customers have an optimal experience when protecting data on computers running the Windows Vista operating system.
Handy Backup software is an all-in-one solution for backing up valuable information, restoring it in case of an unforeseen emergency and synchronizing files between computers on a network. It allows performing backup to DVD, backup to CD, backup to HDD, USB and FireWire devices. It includes presets to exececute MS Outlook/Outlook Express backup, MySQL backup, MS Exchange backup and many other data backup. With this software consumers, who are new to backing up their data, and experienced users, who want to save time, have at their disposal a set of powerful yet easy-to-use tools to safeguard precious files. And now they can do this even more efficiently.

Windows Vista compatibility was implemented in the software about a year ago and now it has been officially acknowledged which means that the program meets the highest standards of reliability and security. Tests proved that Handy Backup works with different configurations of Windows Vista correctly without the need to change system settings even after updating the OS. This became possible because of a new architecture introducing multiuser support, digital certificates for all program files, long file name support etc., which results in considerably increased security and stability.
The application installer has been changed and now combines all versions of the product (Standard, Standard DVD, Professional, Full and Server) in one package. Thus the user has the opportunity to install a stand-alone version, Server version and client agents coming with Handy Backup Server using the same installer. Such approach seems to be more convenient as it simplifies switching from one version to another and delivers all the power of Handy Backup at once.
Apart from that all versions of Handy Backup now include the Windows Service Mode functionality by default, even those that have not been providing such feature – Standard and Standard DVD that allows. With Handy Backup 6.0 these versions can be also run in Windows Service Mode and protect valuable information automatically without human intervention which is more efficient than backup scheduling.
In addition Handy Backup 6.0 implements completely new, more flexible functionality. Users are now encouraged to take advantage of include/exclude file masks not only when backing up and recovering their data, but when synchronizing as well. Also MS SQL backup feature has been considerably improved. Now the program allows even novices to perform backup of MS SQL databases quickly and easily, conserving all the information that the database contains, including views, store procedures, functions, etc., just in a few clicks.
